The F30 is both resoluting better detail at its resolution EVEN with the LX2 image down sized to its level.... If you want to know whether F30 is better than LX2, be careful to downsize LX2 to equivalent size or you will see more artifacts than actually occur for a given display or print size....

I think this does show that the LX2 does definitely pick up the texture detail slightly better and the edges are cleaner than the F30's.... Really that image comparison really should have favored the LX2 more so than the F30, it had the apparent advantage I think even despite the atmospheric conditions I expected more out of it....

One thing I can already surmise is that image quality wise the LX2 probably has nothing on the S6500fd after seeing LX2 vs F30.... And two even in a well lit shot where the LX2 which almost has double the Megapixels it still didn't resolute very much more than the F30....

) F30 goes right out to 2000LPH while the LX2 has begun aliasing below 1800.... ) You will also notice that the F30 is doing better than the LX2 along the 45 degree axis as well (it's easiest to see if you upsize both images by 2x using a sinx/x interpolation such as the Lanczos filter in Irfanview....
