Anyway, look at the full resolution sample shots of the reviews here and see just how noisy the FX9 is compared to the SD450.... so I guess it's a toss-up between SD450 and FX9 for me...

It has 5mp compared to the FX9's 6mp, not a big difference and gives better results.... The FX8 is to prefer over the FX9 because its sensor is a lot less noisy....

I would prefer the SD450 for its larger screen size, and Canon has always been strong in image quality.... The rep at B&H photo (a well regarded NYC camera store) owns this and recommends the image quality....
